Lisbon - Belem & Alfama - part 1

Due to jetlag, we didn't start out our day until noon today.  First stop the famous Belem Pastries.  We were forewarn by our B&B host that there might be over 200 people outside waiting to buy these things.  Boy were we lucky!  I think it was due most of Europeans and the US folks have ended their vacation last month, we did not have to wait at all.  Here are some pictures.  Yes! they were so good we went back tonight again for another round. Yes if we have to wait 2 hours we would've.

A cup of coffee with milk and 4 delicious warm egg custards topped with cinnananananamons and lots of powdered sugar.
Small store front but hidden inside were tons of tables.  Usually filled to the rims if not for this off season.

We walked everywhere after our little breakfast.
This was taken in the afternoon.

Since we went back for more pastries...here's another of the same monument at night.  Truly disappointed because I thought they would've turned on the spot lights.
a bit cloudy.
Ok we are off to Sintra for the day.  We will post more of Belem and Alfama - Part 2.  Must find bank that will exchange US $ to Euros.  Not bad so far we have only spent 100 Euro in 2 days of sightseeing and eating.
