After a wonderful and charming Lisbon, we packed up for Madrid, Spain. Expecting similar nice weather and friendly people, we did not get either of those in the 1st couple of hrs upon arrival. When we were waiting for the luggage we discovered that there is a big festival called La Noche en Blanco (White Night) coming up the next day which they will party ALL night (tons of free events and free entry to most museums). I kindly trying to share this information with some Chinese passengers on the plane with us, but for some reason they thought I was a taxi driver trying to solicit business!! RUDE!
When we made it to the hotel, we found out the place we booked is full. We had a lot of questions about the but the reception guy would not let us speak a word until he is done with his errands. Finally, he decided to speak to us and let us know that they have another building down the street. We quickly got to our room, dropped our stuff and head straight towards Market San Miguel.
Halfway there, it start to rain. But nothing can stop us, we are HUNGRY! Market San Miguel is some what touristy, but we were definitely not disappointed. Check out all the meat:
We wanted to try everything on the menu but our ordering ability is limited. Good thing the old man behind the counter was helpful. He immediately ordered four things for us and man it turned out to be pretty expensive. After lunch, we made an important discovery, we found the center of Spain:
